Some of the x86 mini-boards that have integrated micocontrollers on them could be really cool, but then, motor support seems lacking.

Can you say ARDUINO??? They seem to have it all.

In fact I have seen a wireless control of a stepper motor via Arduino and associated little plugin boards. Would be kinf of cool to have a wireless controlled rotary turntable.

Though I have not ordered one yet, the Lattepanda (x86+Arduino) boards are particularly interesting. In theory these boards could be operated in a remote desktop or 'headless' mode without a no monitor, keyboard or mouse connected. The other plus for a high speed camera project, is the USB 3 ports. However, the LP I am most interested in (alpha or delta) wont ship till August.

So teased us with an arduino controlled rotary turntable.

I offered to do the manual work if you are serious. Whats happening man!

Also another request How to interface a LASER rangefinder like one from Optrex or Baumer. They give you voltage output per unit of movement. So where do I go from there?
